At Pre Purchase Survey we conduct heat loss / thermal imaging surveys. This is a non-disruptive survey using a specialist device called an infrared camera. This camera detects infrared energy emitting from an object and assigns a colour based on the surface temperature of that object.
When multiple objects are within focus the camera will display an array of different colours creating a ‘thermal image’. We collate these ‘thermal images’ into a report which include our analysis and recommendations for your property.
It is worth noting that although a thermal imaging survey can identify heat loss it can also identify the following:

Conditions for a thermal image survey must be right and normally can only be conducted between November and February. However once having a thermographic survey at a pre purchase stage you will be fully informed on the measures required and could utilise such works as an element of negotiation with the seller.

Once you have enquired with us we will provide you with available dates for the specialist surveys to be undertaken. It is then your responsibility to organise these survey dates with the vendor/seller of the property.
Usually this will be organised through your solicitor.
